It uses a simple 8' gin-pole that slides into a hole at the base of the mast, and a couple baby-stays that slip into the mast with a "T"-fitting, and pelican hooks that attach to straps used to secure the halyard turning blocks to the cabin top. Basically, they assemble the TFO Mangrove push pole ($230) and sell it. Never had any complaints. You can spend a $1000 on a stiffy if you want.
