WebJul 26, 2016 · The nut slot isn't cut right. The slot should be slightly higher on the fretboard side and lower on the headstock side. It's probably flat. Also, are the locking tuners staggered? One of the benefits of standard safe-t-post tuners is getting a minimum of 3 wraps on the post to get the break angle a little steeper. The foam must be cut thick enough so that it makes fairly firm contact with all strings. Bass players usually do this near the bridge but maybe it could help with the issue your guitar is having.
