High temperature extensometer
WebHigh temperature, high corrosion resistant 214 alloy is used on all temperature exposed parts of the extensometer. Lifetimes can exceed 4700 hours at 1100 Deg. C (2000 Deg. F) Rod and Tube design provides 10 mm to 152 mm (0.375 in to 6 in) variable gage length for flexibility in attaching to a wide variety of specimen sizes. WebThe extensometer comprises a high quality foam lined case, a spare set of ceramic rods, and eight ceramic fiber cords Use without cooling to 1200 °C (2200 °F) An optional small fan can enhance stability at highest temperatures Rugged, dual flexure design for strength and improved performance

WebJul 27, 2012 · The reliability of the extensometer at high temperature was validated by on-site monitoring of the deformation of a main steam pipe operating at 540 °C in a power plant. It was demonstrated that the designed extensometer has a high accuracy and an excellent reliability for measurement of the deformation of the high temperature pipes. WebTherefore, results for strength tests at room temperature presented in this work are a mix between extensometer and DIC results. Tests at high temperature also used a DIC technique, exclusively. All tests used a displacement rate of 1 mm/min in an Instron 3367 electro-mechanical testing machine with a load cell capacity of ± 30 kN.

WebSep 2, 2001 · A spare set comes with every extensometer. High and low temperature options extend operation from as low as -265 °C (-450 °F) to +200 °C (400 °F). Includes high quality foam lined case. Replaceable arms and spacers for ease of repair. This also allows changing the gage length for different test requirements.
WebNov 8, 2024 · A retro light was set up behind the specimens (Figure 6a), mounted opposite to the video-extensometer, to obtain a high-contrast transition at the specimen vertical edges. The ends of the paper strips (markers), which appeared as black lines due to the backlight, were selected as targets using the video-extensometer software (Figure 6b). WebEpsilon developed this unique high temperature extensometer for testing metals, ceramics, and composites at the high temperatures produced by furnaces and induction heating systems. A combination of features make these extensometers easier to use and better in performance than other similar high temperature extensometers.
WebHigh-Temperature Extensometers < 950 °C Capacitive There are many different types of high temperature extensometers available. The type of instrument is dependent on the type of testing (hot tensile, creep, LCF etc) and the type of heating system used (split tube furnace, straight tube furnace, side entry port furnace or environmental chamber).
